Cookie Policy

This policy describes the cookies used by Global Boards Alumni and how you can control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device to support website operation, remember choices or measure use.

2. Cookies we use

  • SAN announcement cookie: gba_san_announcement is a first-party, strictly necessary session cookie. It records that the SAN announcement has already appeared so it does not reappear while you navigate or return to the home page during the same browser session. It expires when the browser session ends.
  • Consent cookie: gba_analytics_consent records whether you accepted or rejected Analytics. It is a first-party preference cookie kept for up to 12 months.
  • Google Analytics: after consent, Google may set _ga and related _ga_* cookies to distinguish visits and produce aggregated usage reports. The principal identifier is configured for no more than 12 months; auxiliary cookies may expire sooner.
  • Necessary cookies: the website may use short-lived security or session cookies needed to submit forms and protect the service.

3. Analytics choices

Google Analytics is not loaded and sends no data to Google until you choose “Accept analytics”. Rejecting Analytics does not restrict the website. Advertising storage, Google Signals, remarketing and advertising personalisation remain disabled.

You may change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings control below. Withdrawal stops further Analytics measurement and removes Analytics cookies belonging to this site from your browser.

4. What we measure

With consent, we measure public page views, standard enhanced-measurement interactions, anonymous progress and successful completion events for the enquiry and application forms, clicks on Follow GBA, PDF downloads and clicks on external event links. We do not send names, emails, answers, CVs or filenames to Google Analytics. Admin, authentication and private CV download activity are not measured.

5. Browser controls

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may affect security or form continuity.

6. Contact and updates

Questions may be sent to hello@alumnigb.com. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
